My name is Susan Langford. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and we have a blended family of five children and six grandchildren. God and family are a very important part of our lives.
I’ve been in education for 21 years now. I started out at Sherman ISD working with severe and profoundly handicapped children in 1989. This position was very challenging on one hand, but so much more rewarding on the other. I have always tried to focus on a child’s abilities rather than his/her disabilities. I have so many wonderful, deep-rooted relationships with the staff, as well as the families of these students, that continues to this day.
In 2004, I stepped out of working with children because I was offered a secretary position on the same campus. I really enjoyed that position, as well. I was still able to see and continue to be a part of “my students” Iives, and also help on the administrative side of so many more students.
In 2008, I left education altogether and continued my career as an Office Administrator for a multi-million dollar construction company. I worked there for 10 years until my husband and I decided to leave Texas and move to Stringtown, Oklahoma, in 2018. I went back to my passion for helping with the education of children, which I had been missing so much when Stringtown ISD offered me my current position in 2019.
Stringtown, Oklahoma is a great place to call home and Stringtown ISD staff and students had me at “Hello.”
I am looking forward to many more years here and retiring here. Doing what I love to do...helping with the education of our future.
